IN LOVE WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPRESSIONISM

My photography has always been arty. It has been only since I met Valda Bailey and Doug Chinnery on their workshop, ‘Impressions of London,’ that I began to think of myself as a visual artist.  

I am endlessly fascinated by making images with digital camera and processing. In turn, the way that images tell stories, express feelings and connect with others is infinitely interesting to me. I have been privileged to be able to incorporate these interests into my life.

Valda and Doug have guided me this far.  I am also inspired by other artists past and present. These include Chagall, Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, Kahlo, Pollock, Frankenthaler and Emin.  

Photographers who inspire me include: Karen Divine, Honey J Walker and Lynne Blount as only three of the Abstract Rhythm and Blues gang, and beyond.
